About Us

Dr. Joseph R. Sturges is a board-certified chiropractic sports physician and the founder of Sturges Chiropractic & Sports Medicine. With more than two decades of clinic experience serving the St. Charles community, Dr. Sturges has built his practice around a simply philosophy: true health is not just the absence of pain - it's optimal function.
His approach blends chiropractic treatment, functional exercise, soft tissue therapy, and personalized nutritional strategies to address both the structural and metabolic factors that influence recovery and performance. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, Dr. Sturges works to identify underlying contributors such as movement dysfunction, inflammation, stress physiology, and lifestyle habits that impact long-term health.
Dr. Sturges remains committed to ongoing education in functional medicine, performance care, and evidence informed treatment strategies so patients receive the most modern, comprehensive care in a supportive environment. His goal is not just providing pain relief, but helping patients build stronger, more capable bodies and healthier, more resilient lives.
Personally, Dr. Sturges currently lives in the city of Cottleville with his wife and three children. Originally from Belvidere, IL, Dr. Sturges completed his undergraduate studies at Illinois State University, where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Biology. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Sturges attended the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL, where he obtained a Bachelor of Human Biology and a Doctorate of Chiropractic. Board Certified in Chiropractic Sports Medicine, he has been the treating sports chiropractor for the Saint Louis Ballet since 2001. An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Sturges enjoys running, weight lifting, and rock climbing in his free time. Dr. Sturges also stays active in the community through various volunteering commitments.
